Live Music and Entertainment in Bums Hollow at Blanchette Park.... is not a new idea, just forgotten my many.
About a year ago Gene Carroll and Chris Black started discussing the natural beauty and incredible possibilities for Bums Hollow. During a conversation with Erv Ermeling they learned that Erv’s mother used to go to concerts, plays and gatherings at Bum’s Hollow quite frequently. But somehow, events just quit happening.
One of Mother Natures true works of art in our own backyard!
One look and any musician or music lover can see the potential for one of the best natural concert venues in the metro area if not the midwest. Of course Bums Hollow has long been known for its sledding and winter time attractions but after some after some research they discovered as some already knew that there had already been concerts and plays in the hollow in years past. The first documented one in 1924. Chris and Gene started the work necessary to bring the amphitheater back to life and on October 6th the city and parks department have graciously allowed the venue to be used once again. The A Band (Arbogast Band) with special guest Mark Moebeck are donating their services to get the venue kicked off.
It is our sincere hope that after people see and experience this fantastic venue that we can move forward with plans for possibly a permanent stage and other facilities needed to make it a first class venue.
Thank you for supporting Bum's Hollow Amphitheater, Music and the Arts in St. Charles !
